Light Sources for Gas Analysis

Laser-Driven Light Sources are giving researchers a level of analysis that was not previously possible. Long-path differential optical absorption spectroscopy (LP-DOAS) is used to measure concentrations of trace gases such as ozone and nitrogen dioxide.

Key Benefits of LDLS for Gas Analysis:

  • Lifetime an order of magnitude longer than conventional sources such as xenon arc lamps
  • Small and very stable plasma discharge spot
  • Optically efficient fiber coupling
  • High transmission homogeneity
